Build a watch face or a game, one small piece at a time
WristForge's editor holds everything you need to make a watch face or a game, and it doesn't assume you already know how a visual editor works. These tutorials walk through real, working examples step by step, with screenshots, if you've never touched one before.

Components
Text
Words on the face: a label, a face name, or any fixed text, with font, size, alignment, wrapping and outline.
2 min
Image
A picture on the face: backgrounds, icons, hand art. Tint it, tile it, give it a shadow, or let the wearer pick it.
3 min
Curved Text
Text that follows the round edge of the face, with its own curve, direction and letter flip.
3 min
Progress Bar
A straight (or gently curved) gauge filled by a live watch value, horizontal or vertical.
4 min
Progress Arc
A ring gauge you place and size anywhere, filled by a live watch value like battery, steps or heart rate.
4 min
Progress Circle
A circular gauge in its own box: a ring, a filling pie wedge, or a liquid level.
5 min
Analog Clock
Hour, minute and second hands that always show the real time, with hand art, smooth sweep, shadows and wearer-selectable hand styles.
4 min
Digital Clock
The current time as text, in 12 hour, 24 hour or the wearer's own setting, with seconds or just the hour or minute.
3 min
Date Text
The current date as text: weekday, month, day or year, in seven formats you can combine.
3 min
Complication Circle
A round complication slot the wearer fills with live data. Shows short text, a range value (a ring that fills), a small image or an icon.
4 min
Complication Small Box
A small rectangular complication slot the wearer fills with live data. Shows short text, a range value, a small image or an icon.
3 min
Complication Line
A thin bar complication slot for one line of short text.
3 min
Complication Large Box
A large rectangular complication slot the wearer fills with live data. Shows long text, a range value or a small image.
3 min
Complication Edge
A complication slot that curves along the bezel. Shows short text, long text, a range value, goal progress or weighted elements.
3 min
Battery Level
The watch's battery level as text, a ring, a bar or a circle. Always the real battery, never reassignable.
3 min
Heart Rate
The wearer's live heart rate as text or a gauge, with its own bpm range and unit options.
3 min
Tick Ring
Tick marks or hour numerals evenly spaced around the dial: Arabic, Roman, with gaps and custom spacing.
3 min
Weather
Current weather or a forecast as text: condition and temperature, UV index, chance of rain, and more.
4 min
Step Count
The wearer's step count as text or a gauge that fills toward their real step goal.
4 min
Weather Sprite
A picture that changes with the weather: a fallback image plus one row per condition.
5 min
Moon Phase
The current moon phase as its name, its day in the lunar cycle, or your own picture for each phase.
4 min
Notification Count
How many notifications are unread, as a number that hides itself at zero. Never reassignable by the wearer.
4 min
Segmented Arc
A ring of separate marks that light up one by one as a value rises: the stepped 'blips' gauge.
4 min
Mask
Use an object's shape to cut out the others in its Group: a photo in a circle, a gradient inside the time.
4 min
Gyro
Move, turn, scale or fade an object as the wearer tilts their wrist, for parallax layers and shimmer.
4 min
Group Tint
Tint everything in a Group at once, and let the wearer recolour the whole set with one Color Style pick.
4 min
Frame Animation
Play a list of pictures on an Image: a spinning gear, a flickering flame, a blink. Loop, play on the second, minute or hour, or on tap.
4 min
Watch Faces
Watch Face Projects
What a watch face can contain, what's different from a game, and where each tool lives.
6 min
Ambient Mode
How your face looks when the watch dims. You decide it object by object, with a dot in the Hierarchy.
6 min
Complications
Live data slots the wearer fills: five shapes, the data each can show, and which start with real data.
8 min
Color Styles and Flavors
Let the wearer switch your face's colours on the watch, one set at a time or all at once with a Flavor.
7 min
Photo Slot
The wearer's own photo as the background. One per face, set by the platform.
5 min
The Simulate Tab
Pretend it's midnight, the battery is low, or it's raining, and see your face react. Nothing here is saved.
5 min
Getting Your Face Onto a Real Watch
See it on your wrist in a minute while you work, then share it through Face Hub or publish it yourself.
7 min
Publishing Your Face on Google Play
From a finished face to a Play Store listing: package id, signing key, the Play bundle, and what Google checks.
12 min
Time-of-Day Windows
Show or hide anything for part of the day by dragging on a 24 hour bar, one row per object.
7 min
Animating with Property Tracks
Keyframe opacity, position, scale, rotation or tint across the day, something Watch Face Studio and Facer can't do.
8 min
Watching and Testing the Timeline
Timeline changes play in the Scene as you work, and a time-lapse build shows a whole day on a real watch in one minute.
6 min
Settings Every Object Shares
Position, ambient look, show when, dynamic tint, Color Styles, drop shadows and text outlines: the rows most objects have.
