The short version
Wrist Academy is a Wear OS app made by Stone Golem Studios that downloads and runs short courses on your watch, such as Morse code and binary. You can use the free lessons without an account. If you sign in, we keep your WristForge account, your coins and the courses you unlocked, so they follow you to another watch. There are no ads and no advertising trackers, and we never sell your data.
What stays on your watch
- Your progress: lessons finished, streaks, scores and settings for each course.
- Downloaded courses and which one you opened last.
- Reminder times, if you turn on a daily reminder. Reminders are scheduled on the watch itself.
This is stored privately on your watch and is not sent to us, unless a course offers a cloud save and you are signed in (see below).
Microphone and spoken answers
Some courses have a Hands-free mode where you say an answer out loud. The app asks for microphone permission the first time a course needs it, and you can say no and keep learning without it.
- The app listens only for a few seconds after a question, never in the background.
- Speech is turned into text by your watch's speech recognition service (on most watches, provided by Google under its own privacy policy). The app receives only the words, not audio.
- The words are compared with the right answer and then thrown away. We don't record audio, store what you said, or send it to our servers.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional and uses your WristForge account, approved from your phone. When you are signed in we store:
- Your account (email address and display name).
- Your coin balance and a history of coins added and spent.
- Which courses you unlocked, so you can restore them on any watch.
- Which courses you downloaded or added to your wishlist.
- Cloud saves, only for courses that offer them, so you can pick up on another watch.
The full details of how we handle accounts are in the main WristForge Privacy Policy.
Purchases
Courses are unlocked with coins. Coins are bought through Google Play, which processes the payment under its own privacy policy. We never see your card or payment details. We receive a confirmation of the purchase from Google so we can add the coins to your account.
Ratings
At times the app may show Google Play's own rating card, or open the app's store page on your phone. Any rating or review you leave goes to Google Play, not to us.
Who else sees it
We don't sell or rent your data and we don't share it with advertisers. We use service providers to run the app (database and hosting, and Google Play for payments), and they handle data only to provide that service to us.
Deleting your data
To remove what is on your watch, clear the app's storage in your watch settings or uninstall the app. To delete your account and everything we hold for it, delete it from your account page on our website or email us. The main policy explains what is removed and when.
Children
Wrist Academy is a general audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If a future version collects anything new, we will update this page before that version is released and change the date above.
